No Greater Love

Some words just aren't fashionable. Honor. Duty. Sacrifice. But once a year we take them out of moth balls to say "Thank you" to our Veterans.

We owe a debt to these men and women who sacrificed their time and freedom to ensure ours. It doesn't matter whether or not we believe in what our country sent them to fight for, or whether they were sent to fight at all. What matters is that they were willing to put on the uniform to defend us.

Some were drafted, some volunteered, some are still in harms way. All did a duty that few of us are willing to do. Jesus said in John 15:13, greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for his friends. Veterans and active duty personnel risk their lives for strangers. So this Veterans Day the least we can do is honor them by saying, "Thank you for your service."
