Pastor Walt McCann

Pastor McCann was raised in New Jersey and attended Central Jersey Bible Institute in Trenton, New Jersey were he graduated in June of 1971 with a diploma in Biblical Studies. He then attended Luther Rice Bible College and Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated in May of 1989 with a BA in Biblical Studies. He has been a pastor since 1977 when he was ordained at Shadyrest Bible Church in Chesterfield, New Jersey. During his pastoral career he has worked with youth, counseled, taught classes in Bible, New Testament, and Evangelism, as well as, teaching physical education and coaching softball and baseball.

He became senior pastor of the Evangelical Free Church of Hamilton City in March of 1990 and was there preaching, teaching, and counseling until 2008 at which time he and his wife, Carolyn, moved to Orland so that he could begin full-time at the Orland Evangelical Free Church as the Pastor of Discipleship (and Executive Pastor).His pastoral duties at EV Free in Orland include supervising office staff, teaching Self-Confrontation classes, training new counselors.He works primarily with men and couples (either before or after marriage).

Pastor McCann has received extensive training in counseling with Christian Counseling and Education Foundation, the Biblical Counseling Foundation, and Faith Counseling Center in Lafayette, Indiana. He is currently pursuing certification with NANC (National Association of Nouthetic Counselors).

Cindy Yarbrough

Cindy was born in Tawas City, Michigan to an Air Force family and then proceeded to travel to many exotic places like the Philippines, England, and Dayton, Ohio.

She came to faith in Christ at the age of twenty-eight in a small church in Yuba City, California and thus began a new adventure with the Living God.She has attended the Orland Evangelical Free, along with husband Mark, since November of 1991. She graduated in 2003 from California State University at Chico with a BA in Liberal Studies and a minor in Psychology. After attending the Self-Confrontation class and receiving training in Biblical counseling from the Training center in Lafayette, Cindy began counseling women at OEFC in 2004.

She has recently completed her Masters Degree in biblical counseling from Masters International Divinity School in Evansville, Indiana.She is also certified as a biblical counselor with both NANC (National Association of Nouthetic Counselors) and IABC (International Association of Biblical Counselors).

On staff since 2006, she is providing personal counseling in conjunction with Pastor Walt for married couples as well as working with individual women.She teaches a class called the Excellent Wife and continues to attend conferences and training seminars to refine her counseling skills, procedures and to facilitate training of new leadership.
